South African Royal Mail Service post card with attractive standard multi-coloured vignette of a Castle Liner with the ship's name printed separately as a heading. After the merger in March 1900 between the Castle Line and Union Steamship Company the wording "A Union" was added to "A Castle Liner". Printed on CGH 1d postal stationery postcard H&G 15.

As above, a very attractive "Gruss Aus" type "Greetings from Cape Town" range of chromo-lithograph multiple vignettes postcards, but now on CGH official 1d postal stationery cards, also published by JC Hubrich of Cape Town.

 Whilst the colourful vignette views were printed in Germany, presumably on large sheets of thin paper, it is generally believed that the still uncut vignettes were shipped to Cape Town where they were guillotined to match the size of the postcards and pasted onto the cards. However the vignettes were sometimes cut down too small and therefore do not always match the exact size of the postcard. This sometimes can be seen when the postcard protrudes slightly at the edges from the vignettes paper.
